Manhattan Bridge Cables looks up into the suspension geometry of one of New York's working giants — the diagonals of cable, the riveted spandrels, the masonry tower set against a flat grey sky. Shot on film in black and white, the frame trades the postcard view for something closer to engineering and weather. The cables run in pure straight lines, the tower stays calm in the middle distance, and the sky offers no drama, only patience. There is nothing here that asks for attention; the bridge does the work.
Where other frames in New York Chronicles cup the city in long horizontals or street-level texture, this one tilts the eye upward into structure. The crop is close enough to read every cable as a single drawn line, far enough to keep the gothic arch of the tower as a quiet center. It is the most architectural image in the series, and the most still.

Care
Dry microfiber cloth for dust. For stubborn marks, dampen with water or anti-static screen cleaner. Avoid paper towels, ammonia-based cleaners, and abrasives — they scratch the acrylic.
As with any photographic print, prolonged direct sunlight will eventually fade the colors. Hang out of long-duration direct sun where possible.
Hang on a dry interior wall. Bathrooms and other high-humidity rooms aren’t ideal for long-term display.
