Berlin Afterglow #7

Berlin Afterglow is the city at the hour when the lights start doing the thinking. This Berlin night photography wall art series gathers the residue of a long evening — a red-lit smoker mid-exhale, a candy-coloured grid of pills catching gel-light, a black-and-white dance floor blown open by a strobe. Three frames, one throbbing after-hour. The studio works in the tradition of Peter Hujar — close to the subject, unafraid of shadow, willing to let a face stay half-hidden. Palettes flip hard between saturated club red and silvered monochrome. Smoke is allowed to do what smoke does. Nothing is retouched into gloss; grain is part of the texture, not a flaw to fix. These prints belong in a loft with concrete floors, a record collection bigger than the bookshelf, a kitchen that gets used at 3 a.m. They suit people who still go out on a Tuesday.
