Eyesplosion #3

Eyesplosion is our pop register, dialed loud. The series leans into the screenprint vocabulary of the late sixties — the era of Bardot posters tacked above record players, of color blocks that didn't ask permission. Each frame crops a face down to its loudest gesture: an eye held wide, a mouth caught mid-thought, a profile flooded in saturated ground. We work in tight binary palettes — orange against cyan, hot pink against ochre, mint against cobalt — letting the contrast carry the room. The print register stays graphic and confident, halftone edges visible, the brush of the original sketch left where it lands. References sit somewhere between Warhol's celebrity portraits, the editorial pop of Peter Max, and the sharper attitude of late-sixties French magazine covers — but the mood is our own, less ironic, more direct. These are pieces for rooms that already have a point of view. Hang one above a velvet sofa, a brass bar cart, a shelf with too many spines, and the space sharpens around it. One shared appetite for color that refuses to sit in the background.
