A black-and-white close-up wall art print — a young woman half-lit by a hard diagonal of sun, the rest of her face dropped into deep shadow, her parted lips and pale brows holding the light like something carved. Her hair falls in soft, sun-bleached waves at the edge of the frame, just enough to suggest movement before stillness. The grain stays honest, the skin texture intact. The mood evokes the still, restrained register of Peter Lindbergh — fashion editorial with the volume turned all the way down.
The closest piece in the Suburban Muse series, and the most directly held. Where the companion portraits keep their distance — a quarter-turn, a glance away, a hand hovering at the jaw — this one comes in tight and lets the geometry of light do all the work. The hard shadow line is the composition. The eyes do the rest. Nothing else needs to happen.
A premium pigment print on Alu-Dibond, frameless with a floating mount effect. Deep blacks, paper-white highlights, and a matte finish that holds the tonal contrast cleanly under any wall light. Sizes range from 30×20 cm up to 210×140 cm. Curated in Berlin, printed in Europe. Ready to hang. Free EU shipping.
Why this price
A gallery charges 2–3× more for the same print. Here's where the money goes.
online-only studio
€499
For a 120×80 cm Exhibition print. You keep €700+ — that's the difference.
No rent on a prime-street corner.
No resellers. No commission chain.
How it arrives
Your artwork with an integrated aluminum mounting frame pre-attached to the back, plus a short installation note.
Each piece ships flat in protective packaging designed to handle courier transit without damage.
Integrated floating wall-mount sits slightly off the wall, casting a subtle shadow. Exhibition sizes and up — use a solid interior wall or fittings rated for heavier loads.
1–2 weeks from order. Each piece is produced on demand.
Please note: Wall screws, hooks, and dowels are not included. Use fittings appropriate for your wall type (drywall, brick, concrete) and the size you’ve chosen.
Care
Dry microfiber cloth for dust. For stubborn marks, dampen with water or anti-static screen cleaner. Avoid paper towels, ammonia-based cleaners, and abrasives — they scratch the acrylic.
As with any photographic print, prolonged direct sunlight will eventually fade the colors. Hang out of long-duration direct sun where possible.
Hang on a dry interior wall. Bathrooms and other high-humidity rooms aren’t ideal for long-term display.

The Series
A face caught between sun and shadow, half-spoken, half-held back.
Suburban Muse is a series of close-cropped editorial portraits — faces caught in the kind of light you find by accident, not by appointment. Bedroom blinds at four o'clock. A kitchen window in October. The hour after the dishes are done and before anyone calls. We made these in a photographic register that draws on the quieter end of fashion editorial — Peter Lindbergh's restraint, the high-contrast intimacy of Paolo Roversi when he turns the music down. No glamour styling, no big production. Just a face, a gesture, a slice of light. The palette holds to deep black-and-white tonalities with the occasional warm half-tone. Frames sit close — sometimes too close — so the viewer has to meet the gaze instead of admire it from across the room. Each piece in the series is a portrait of someone who looks like they might live three doors down, except the light has decided, just for this minute, to treat them like the subject of a magazine cover. That tension is the whole project.
