Ghosts Within #7 wall art in soft black and white — a young woman in a black turtleneck, her face caught mid-blur as if a thought passed through her faster than the frame could hold. Streaks of motion smear horizontally across the brow and mouth, leaving the chin and the dark wool collar perfectly still beneath. The most kinetic piece in the Ghosts Within series, and the closest the series comes to a smile that never quite arrives. It evokes the still photographic register of Roy DeCarava — silver grain, generous shadow — pulled into a slower shutter.
Where the companion frames in Ghosts Within keep the figure almost statuesque, this one lets the head do the moving. The skin under the blur stays honest — a parted mouth, a soft jaw, the edge of an eye reading through the streaks. The crop is tight, shoulders and head, with a low-key grey wall holding everything in place. Nothing is staged for drama; the drama is in the shutter.
A pigment print on Alu-Dibond, frameless with a floating mount effect. The deep blacks and paper-white highlights gain a clean tonal depth on the matte aluminum surface. Sizes from 30×20 cm to 210×140 cm. Curated in Berlin, printed in Europe. Ready to hang. Free EU shipping.

How it arrives
Your artwork with an integrated aluminum mounting frame pre-attached to the back, plus a short installation note.
Each piece ships flat in protective packaging designed to handle courier transit without damage.
Integrated floating wall-mount sits slightly off the wall, casting a subtle shadow. Exhibition sizes and up — use a solid interior wall or fittings rated for heavier loads.
1–2 weeks from order. Each piece is produced on demand.
Please note: Wall screws, hooks, and dowels are not included. Use fittings appropriate for your wall type (drywall, brick, concrete) and the size you’ve chosen.
Care
Dry microfiber cloth for dust. For stubborn marks, dampen with water or anti-static screen cleaner. Avoid paper towels, ammonia-based cleaners, and abrasives — they scratch the acrylic.
As with any photographic print, prolonged direct sunlight will eventually fade the colors. Hang out of long-duration direct sun where possible.
Hang on a dry interior wall. Bathrooms and other high-humidity rooms aren’t ideal for long-term display.

The Series
A face caught between stillness and motion, a presence half here, half elsewhere.
Ghosts Within is a study of the face under pressure — portraits where motion blur, light streaks, and long-exposure veils become part of the skin. Each frame sits in deep monochrome, the kind of black that drinks the room and the kind of white that holds onto the cheekbone. We were thinking of Paolo Roversi's Polaroids, of Sarah Moon's hesitations, of fashion images that refuse to settle. The figures here are present and absent at once, half subject and half memory. Some look directly back, some are caught mid-turn, but all of them carry that interior quiet that only happens when the shutter stays open a beat too long. The series is held in a photographic register — close crops, soft key light, an unbothered velvet ground — and lives well in rooms that already know how to be still: a reading corner, a bedroom wall, the dim end of a hallway. Hung together, the pieces talk to each other in whispers. Hung alone, each one keeps its own counsel. Curated in Berlin, printed in Europe on Alu-Dibond as a frameless floating mount.
