Pigeons du Pavé

From Paris with Love is frida's quiet, low-slung walk through the city — Paris told from knee height, from gutter level, from the pavement up. No towers, no postcards. Instead: pigeons on wet granite, a paper bag torn open by a crow, a strip of marble seam where two stones meet. The series treats the street as a stage that nobody's bothered to dress, and trusts the reader to fall for it anyway. Shot on film with a warm, slightly faded palette — cobble beige, slate grey, the soft tan of a kicked-around bakery bag — the frames hold a kind of after-rain stillness. Light arrives sideways, low and tired in the best sense. There's no drama, no decisive moment in the Cartier-Bresson sense; closer to the way Saul Leiter let New York drift past his lens. What unites the pieces is a refusal to perform Paris. They sit together as a body of work because each one looks at something the city would normally crop out, and lets it be the whole frame.
