Al Fresco

Mediterranean is our reading of the southern coast as it actually feels in late August — heat softened by salt, days that stretch and contract around swims and lunches and slow returns to a striped towel. The series moves between Italy, Greece, and the smaller islands, but it isn't about postcards. It's about the small things you remember weeks later: the sound of plastic chairs scraping a terrazzo floor, the chalky shadow under a parasol at three o'clock, the particular grain a 35mm frame pulls out of a midday horizon. Rendered largely in black and white and warm sepia tones, the work draws on the editorial register of Italian summer photography from the seventies — Ghirri's quiet humor, the unhurried framings of Slim Aarons stripped of their colour. Each piece is curated and produced as a premium pigment print on Alu-Dibond, frameless and floating off the wall, so the grain stays honest and the highlights breathe. A series for rooms that already know how to slow down.
