A Glimpse Within is a series about interior weather — the moods that pass behind the eyes when no one is watching. Each piece treats the figure as a vessel for thinking out loud, drawn in tangled lines and run through with a single stubborn color. Cobalt blue threads through black ink and graphite, sometimes a flash of red, sometimes a wash of charcoal — but the gesture is consistent: a person caught mid-thought, the page around them filled with the residue of unfinished sentences. We work in a register that sits between sketchbook and finished drawing, leaving the scaffolding visible. The handwriting in the background isn't decoration; it stands in for the noise we carry around all day, the half-language of memory and worry that surrounds any quiet moment. Pose, palette and mark-making shift from frame to frame — some figures sit, some stand, some hold the head, some look out — but they all share the same emotional climate. Hung as a single piece or in a small grouping, A Glimpse Within reads as portraiture without the polite distance.
