A woman in a coral shirtdress stands at the pool's edge, back to us, looking out over a green valley toward a hand-painted ridge of mountains. The pool reads as a flat slab of jade, the sky a single soft band of cerulean, and a small Mediterranean town gathers in the middle distance like a memory rather than a place. The image sits in a painterly photographic register, in the spirit of David Hockney's California pool work transposed to a southern European afternoon.
Where other frames in 1970 romanticized views look down a coast or across a terrace from inside a doorway, this one places the figure outside, exposed to the full breadth of valley and sky. Her pose is quiet rather than poised — sunglasses on, weight shifted to one leg, a long thin shadow already stretching across the deck. The composition gives roughly two thirds of the frame to landscape and sky, so the figure reads as resident, not subject.
A premium pigment print on Alu-Dibond, frameless with a floating mount effect. The matte surface holds the coral, jade and sky tones evenly, without gloss glare. Sizes from 30×20 cm to 210×140 cm. Curated in Berlin, printed in Europe. Ready to hang. Free EU shipping.

How it arrives
Your artwork with an integrated aluminum mounting frame pre-attached to the back, plus a short installation note.
Each piece ships flat in protective packaging designed to handle courier transit without damage.
Integrated floating wall-mount sits slightly off the wall, casting a subtle shadow. Exhibition sizes and up — use a solid interior wall or fittings rated for heavier loads.
1–2 weeks from order. Each piece is produced on demand.
Please note: Wall screws, hooks, and dowels are not included. Use fittings appropriate for your wall type (drywall, brick, concrete) and the size you’ve chosen.
Care
Dry microfiber cloth for dust. For stubborn marks, dampen with water or anti-static screen cleaner. Avoid paper towels, ammonia-based cleaners, and abrasives — they scratch the acrylic.
As with any photographic print, prolonged direct sunlight will eventually fade the colors. Hang out of long-duration direct sun where possible.
Hang on a dry interior wall. Bathrooms and other high-humidity rooms aren’t ideal for long-term display.

The Series
A coral figure pauses at the pool's edge as a valley breathes below.
1970 romanticized views is a set of painterly frames that look back at a decade through softened glass. Mediterranean terraces, Riviera pools, alpine valleys, golden-hour resorts — places that live in postcards, family slides and the opening pages of old travel magazines. The series isn't documentary. It's the way memory rewrites the seventies: cleaner light, calmer color, a single figure held still inside a view that goes on without her. Each piece is built in a painterly photographic register — flat, generous color blocks, soft modeling, horizons that read closer to gouache than to film. Coral, terracotta, pool-green, dusty olive and dry sky-blues recur across the series, tying the frames into a shared palette without making them identical. Figures are usually turned away or absorbed in the landscape, so the viewer steps into the pose rather than meets a gaze. Together the works read like a private archive of a summer that may or may not have happened — composed, romantic, slightly fictional. They sit comfortably in living rooms, hallways, hotel suites and quiet bedrooms where you want a window onto somewhere else. Pigment prints on Alu-Dibond, frameless with a floating mount effect, in a generous range of sizes across the series.
