Oasis

The Mediterranean series gathers a small body of frida's film work made along Spanish, Italian and Balearic coasts — slow afternoons, low-saturation light, the way the air holds salt without ever quite mentioning it. These are not postcards. The palette runs warm ochre, pine green, washed terracotta and a soft graduated blue that never tips into cobalt. The grain is honest, the frames unhurried. What unites the series is a refusal to perform. frida photographs ridgelines, harbours, terraces and figures the way a friend would describe them after the fact — quietly, with affection, without selling them. Each image is composed for stillness rather than spectacle: a cliff that has been there for centuries, a café table after the lunch crowd, a body of water that has nothing to prove. The light is almost always late afternoon, the kind that softens the horizon and lets a single bird stand in for the whole sky. Hung together, the prints work as a long exhale — a south that lives in memory more than itinerary. Hung alone, each one keeps a room company without raising its voice.
