Visions vibrantes #2

Vibrant Visions is a series of pop-collage portraits in a photographic register — high-contrast halftone faces set against broad, hand-pulled strokes of saturated pigment. The references are familiar: the silkscreen logic of mid-sixties Warhol, the cut-and-paste energy of early Face magazine, the cool fashion editorials that made London and Milan feel loud at the same time. Each frame pairs a quiet, considered portrait with a backdrop that refuses to behave — emerald greens hitting cobalt, mustard ochres bleeding into raw white, brushwork left deliberately rough at the edges. The palette is the through-line. Across the series, the same family of pigments returns in different proportions, so the works hang together as a small graphic chorus rather than a set of one-offs. They sit well in rooms that already have personality: a velvet sofa, a worn rug, a kitchen with terrazzo. Read singly they read like covers. Read in pairs or threes they read like a magazine spread, mid-print, still tacky to the touch.
