Silent Coast

The Mediterranean series gathers the slow afternoons that don't make it onto postcards — a fishermen's cove on Mallorca, a whitewashed staircase still warm at five o'clock, the salt-bleached terrace of a place called Cal Patró where the wall is a sentence and the sea finishes it. These are working coastlines: limestone where the goats still wander, dry pines, a bit of fishing-boat infrastructure left in the frame because that's how the place actually looks. Shot on film by frida, with the slight bloom and warm grain that 35mm gives you when the light is overhead and the shadows are short. The palette stays consistent across the series — chalky stone, cobalt water, terracotta tile, a blue you can almost taste. Composition leans architectural rather than panoramic; the eye is drawn to a sign, a door, a low wall, and only afterwards out to the bay. Together the images read as one summer kept on hold: lived-in, a little sun-bleached, refusing to be picturesque. They hang well in pairs and trios, anywhere a room could use a little Spanish heat without the cliché of a sunset.
