Hotel Mediterraneo

Mediterranean is a small body of work made along the southern edge of the basin — Mallorca, the Balearics, the parts of the coast that quiet down once the day-trippers leave. Shot on film, the series leans into the colours that 35mm handles best: turquoise water against limestone, white walls flattened by mid-afternoon sun, the dry blue of a sky too hot to hold cloud. There's no attempt at the postcard view. Instead, the frames sit at the edge between village life and the sea — a cala where the locals swim, a balcony angled away from the marina, a single palm catching the breeze that comes off the water at six. The series is interested in the lived-in Mediterranean, the one that exists for the people who stay through September. Across the body of work the palette stays consistent: green-glass water, warm whitewash, faded shutter green, sand and limestone in the shadows. Hung together, the prints read as a slow afternoon — paced for looking, not for travelling.
