Morning Cove

Mediterranean is Frida's slow-burn love letter to the sea that everyone thinks they know. Shot on 35mm across Mallorca, Sardinia, the Greek islands and the southern French coast, the series sidesteps postcard cliché entirely. No turquoise saturation, no drone geometry — just the actual light, the actual heat, the actual quiet that lives in the off-hours of a Mediterranean day. Frida works early and late, when the coast is still half-private. Bathers haven't arrived. Boats haven't fired their engines. The film grain is allowed to do the work it was meant to do: hold dust, hold haze, hold the temperature of a stone wall at ten in the morning. The palette stays in conversation with the place itself — cobalt water, limestone white, pine green, the warm sand that turns gold by noon. Each frame is a single found moment, not a composition.
