Eyesplosion #5

Eyesplosion is our love letter to the sixties graphic poster — Warhol's silkscreens, Milton Glaser's Dylan, the Push Pin Studios, the cheap newsprint posters tacked to bedsit walls between 1966 and 1972. Faces flattened to two or three colors. Eyes that take up half a frame. A printing register that misses by a hair and looks better for it. We worked these portraits in a screenprint-adjacent style: high contrast, halftone grain, paint that runs where it shouldn't, color blocks that don't quite line up with the line work. Cobalt sits next to tangerine, sits next to cream, sits next to ink black. Nothing in the palette apologises. The figures are styled mod — short crops, lashes you can count from across the room, lips drawn with conviction — but the mood isn't nostalgia. It's the energy of a poster that's been on the wall long enough to fade in the corners and still hold the room. Hung as a set, they read like a wall in a sixties record shop. Hung alone, each one is a single loud chord. Eyesplosion is graphic, unrepentant, and built for rooms with confidence.
